About

The evolving social-economic issues, new and innovative opportunities, as well as the peculiarity of the Youth in the State, indicate a need to develop a programme that will harness the potentials of young people in the State.

The Lagos State Youth Leadership Initiative (IBILE Youth Academy) was established in 2017 to engage young people in positive Youth development that would empower them to reach their full potential. The training model views young people as assets; necessary resources to be developed, focusing on building their skills and competence, and fostering healthy relationships among young people in the State.

The IBILE Youth Academy embodies a singular mission: to inculcate in young people the spirit of citizenship, volunteerism, and leadership, and cultivate a generation of empowered, skilled, and socially conscious individuals.

Since its inception in 2017, IBILE Youth Academy has been a catalyst for change, empowering youth through comprehensive leadership educational programs, mentorship initiatives, and community-driven projects. Our commitment goes beyond conventional learning; it embraces the holistic development of individuals, fostering leadership, resilience, and a profound sense of social responsibility.

The Academy emphasizes learning strategies based on fun, play, and teaching life skills, rather than strict academic lessons. The academy also enables participants, particularly those disadvantaged or in the most need, to reach their full potential as responsible citizens, by providing all necessary resources and inculcating in them the will to succeed and receive recognition for their accomplishments.
